Who We Are …

The story of Windrose actually begins with another agency -- Brite Pointe Inc. In the summer of 2016, Windrose founder Laura Daws was introduced to Supported Employment when she was searching for meaningful work that would make use of her skills as a former teacher. It was as part of her own career transition that she found Brite Pointe and began her training in the world of disability services. But when Brite Pointe closed its doors in the summer of 2018, Laura knew it was time to embrace the power of the pivot.

Windrose was established in January of 2019, and we have scaled up both our services and our staff since taking on our first clients.

In 2026, we’re expanding our services to include “private pay” options so job seekers and students in our local area(s) and beyond can access all that Windrose has to offer.

We offer innovative and person-centered pre-employment, on-the-job, and long-term recruitment and retention supports to job seekers, as well as pre-employment education and transition supports to students.

To be the region’s premiere provider of vocational and pre-vocational services, helping job seekers find and keep good work.

A “windrose” or “wind rose” is the compass image on a map that indicates which direction is north. It helps a navigator chart their course across the land or the sea. We chose this name for our agency because this is very much how we see our role when working with a job seeker. You decide where you want to go, and we help you navigate the terrain and maintain your alignment with your “true north!”

We currently have two main branches for working in-person with clients, one in Louisville, Kentucky and the other in Bloomington, Indiana. However, we are able to work remotely with clients anywhere in the USA.
