  • Mardol has a background in a range of Human Service fields. Mardol is a Certified Recreational Therapist and is a Certified Activities Director. She spent over 13 combined years working with seniors with disabilities as a Life Enrichment, Activities, Program and Social Service Director. Mardol at her core is an advocate who dedicates herself to the mission. She is compassionate, and full of inspiration. She is known for not only thinking outside of the box, but rebuilding the box when needed. One size does not fit all! She creates moments to get to know the person and finds the right job fit for the person, not just “a job.” She will be with you every step of the way.

  • Brandy Gerkin Combs is a new Employment Specialist who comes from a diverse employment background of service/public facing industries and education focused on biology, criminal justice, anthropology, culture and sustainability.

    She has an inquisitive mind and loves problem solving and puzzles. She’s excitedly looking forward to learning more about each job seeker and support team she’s paired with as well discovering the vast array of jobs and post-secondary vocations the city has to offer. As someone with a firm belief that there’s a place for everyone, this career offers a unique opportunity to put those skills to work assisting each individual find their place and the tools to flourish in it.

  • Founder, Executive Director

  • Laura Daws is the founder and current Executive Director of Windrose Employment Services, LLP. She has a background in education, serving as a high school English, theater, and public speaking teacher in California, Indiana, and Kentucky before making the transition into the world of Supported Employment. She was a Supported Employment Specialist at Brite Pointe, Inc in Louisville, in addition to serving as that agency's Medicaid Services Director, from 2016 until their closure in 2018. Laura founded Windrose in January of 2019 and is very excited about the expansion the agency is experiencing.

  • Holly originally joined the Windrose team in 2021 as a Virtual Assistant. A BFA student at Indiana University Southeast, Holly spent four years working at UPS, Louisville's largest employer. She returned to Windrose in May 2024 where she has worked directly with job seekers and now focuses on transition students.

  • Employment Specialist

  • Sharon double majored in Business Management and Arts Administration. She also studies psychology and human behavior in her free time as a hobby.

    She was a House Manager at Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts for 10 years, which has given her a lot of experience working with and managing employees and guests of all walks of life. She excels at fighting for the underdog. Her favorite word is innovation, and she is great at out-of-the-box thinking to find new and unusual ways to gather and utilize information to create the best opportunities for her clients.

    Her other great passion is creating furniture art, glass art, and home decor. She is a gifted artist and sells her creations online and at Vendor Markets.

  • Matthew comes to us with a wealth of education and lived experience with disabilities as a former client of Windrose who is legally blind, epileptic, and has diagnoses of both Autism and ADHD. This has led to an ability to really put himself in the client’s shoes and think about what services would have been helpful for him . He has a passion for education with a focus on teenagers and providing the services and resources that he didn’t have access to himself as a teen. He has additional experience in Music Education with several Louisville schools. Having a Performing Arts background gives him a lot of versatility and the ability to adapt quickly to any student’s situation or learning needs.

  • Virtual Administrative Assistant

  • Michelle Touketto is one of our Virtual Administrative Assistants, who provide supports for the Windrose Team in a variety of ways from website updates to document proofreading and editing. She has an educational background in Paralegal Studies and Secondary Education and has formally studied sociology, psychology, and cultural anthropology. She also has hands-on experience with special education and exceptional learners departments in secondary schools in Indiana as a full time substitute teacher. She has administrative experience serving on the board of directors with two instrumental music non-profits, one based in Indianapolis and one in Louisville.
